Enjoy Lake Michigan at these parks & beaches
Manitowoc and Two Rivers are home to miles and miles of Lake Michigan coastline, so there are plenty of sandy beaches to explore in the area, whether you’re taking a dip in the lake or just working on your tan. Here are a few you shouldn’t miss.
Neshotah Park & Beach
This beautiful sand beach in Two Rivers covers 50 acres and offers great opportunities for swimming in Lake Michigan and a beach house that has a bathhouse and changing area, restrooms, and a concession stand. Other park amenities include a boat launch for jet skis and kayaks, as well as volleyball and basketball court, playgrounds, shelters, and picnic areas with tables and grills.
Red Arrow Beach
Located south of the Manitowoc River in downtown Manitowoc, Red Arrow Beach spans 30 acres and has a handicapped-accessible lakefront and beach walkway. The beach also has volleyball courts, picnic areas, ball fields, and restrooms.
Point Beach State Forest
This 3,000-acre state forest just north of downtown Two Rivers is a popular destination in the summer, featuring 6 miles of sandy beach along Lake Michigan, as well as abundant camping opportunities at outdoor sites and in group cabins. It’s also home to a separate swimming beach for dogs. Please note that there are no lifeguards on the beach. Looking for a good photo op? Head over to the Rawley Point Lighthouse, home to one of the largest and brightest lights on the Great Lakes.
City of Manitowoc beaches
In addition to Red Arrow Beach, the city of Manitowoc is home to several other public beaches, including (from north to south):
