Think & Drink: From the Sea to the Stars – The Life & Death of Astronaut Laurel Clark
Please join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on September 5th at 6:30pm for our Think & Drink series presentation “From the Sea to the Stars – Astronaut Laurel Clark” with the Racine Heritage Museum’s Christa Bauer. The featured drink of the night will be the Sea of Tranquility Fizz.
Laurel Clark was many things before she became an astronaut. She was a Naval undersea medical officer, the medical department head for a Submarine Squadron, and a Naval flight surgeon. Her love of adventure and science lead her to becoming a NASA Astronaut. Laurel spent 16 days in space on the space shuttle Columbia before she was killed when the shuttle disintegrated upon re-entry to Earth’s atmosphere. Join us as Christa Bauer explores Laurel’s amazing life and tragic death.
Alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the limited bar.
Doors and bar open at 6:00 pm. The talk and live stream portion begin at 6:30 pm. To access the live stream of this event, please register here: https://forms.gle/rcT5k14jQUt2nyWEA
