Film Screening Q&A – Windshipped

December 30, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Saturday, December 30, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Please join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on December 30th at 2:00pm for our film screening of  “Windshipped” with Manitowoc County native Brad Vogel. Admission is free!

Sail into the new year with a special screening of the 40-minute film “Windshipped” by filmmaker John Bowermaster. The film follows the sailing ship Schooner Apollonia on the Hudson River and in New York Harbor where it carries cargo sustainably by wind and tide. Vogel has served as supercargo for Apollonia, directing cargo operations, since the vessel began sail freight service in 2020. Malted barley for breweries, lumber, flour, cider, solar panel, pumpkins, and more all continue to move between nearly 30 ports of call in New York and New Jersey with almost no fossil fuel use. Join Vogel for a Q&A session following the screening and be inspired about what might be possible on Lake Michigan.
