At the tip of the Door Peninsula, there is a body of water known as Port Des Morts, or Death’s Door. It conjures an idea of shipwrecks and treacherous weather. The name, however, has an origin surrounded in mystery that goes back at least three centuries.
Join Brennan Christianson, Collections Coordinator of the Door County Maritime Museum, as he delves into the history of Death’s Door and reveals its complicated history on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 6:30pm at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc!
