American WWII Heritage City Designation Celebration
August 17, 2023 @ 1:00 pm
THURSDAY, AUGUST 17, 2023 AT 1:00 PM CDT
Wisconsin Maritime Museum
Join us in recognizing Manitowoc’s substantial involvement in World War II. From fabricating 28 submarines to manufacturing aluminum goods, this port city played a big role and recently earned the designation of American World War II Heritage City by the National Parks Service – a designation given to only one city per state. There be speakers on the topic and a whistle salute from USS Cobia.
The event will be held on the roof deck of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Public is welcome to attend.
