Please join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on December 7th at 6:30pm for our free Think & Drink series presentation “Wounded Veterans in Parks: Underwater Archaeology and USS ARIZONA” with National Park Service’s Annie Wright. The featured drink of the night will be a Blue Hawaiian Cocktail.
The National Park Service (NPS) and East Carolina University (ECU) have collaborated to bring new opportunities to wounded veterans by giving them the chance to conduct meaningful underwater research. Research has shown psychological and physiological benefits of participation in outdoor activities, scuba diving, and connection with peer support groups for veterans with service-related injuries. Ongoing work in National Parks allows veterans to use military skills and training to work towards a common goal with peers in a rehabilitative environment. Join NPS’s Annie Wright to learn about the work veterans have done at USS ARIZONA site in Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i.
Alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the limited bar.
Doors and bar open at 6:00pm. The talk and live stream portion begin at 6:30pm. To access the live stream of this event, please register here: https://forms.gle/Zy5ai7zABycokA8X8
