Winter Information & Activities

Enjoy the Winter Magic of Manitowoc & Two Rivers

Call 800-627-4896 for updates on snow conditions.

On a clear crisp winter night, some claim to be able to see the lights of Ludington, our sister carferry port, across the 66-mile-wide expanse of Lake Michigan. Others say it’s just light tricks playing on the ever-changing beauty of our lakeshore. Make it your closer-to-home great escape from the winter blahs, featuring fascinating family attractions, intriguing restaurants and shopping, outdoor fun and money-saving vacation packages.

There’s no shortage of fun…snowmobiling, cross country skiing, indoor skating, snowboarding, snowshoeing and even winter camping. Manitowoc offers 348 miles of state snowmobile trails plus river trails and those maintained by local clubs. Point Beach State Forest grooms 11 miles of pristine cross-country ski trails and also accommodates winter campers for those hearty in spirit. Bring along your snowshoes and on weekends you’ll find a roaring fire at the lodge. Other cross-country trails are in Manitowoc’s Silver Creek and Henry Schuette Parks, Camp Sinawa near Valders, Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Collins Marsh Wildlife Area.

Manitowoc Two Rivers invites you to enjoy our indoor Manitowoc County Ice Center, a favorite activity for the whole family. Skate rentals, skate sharpening and concession stand are available. An outdoor skating rink is located at Silver Creek Pond where you can also enjoy a great sledding hill.
