
Owl Fest Week – What a HOOT!
Owl Week at Woodland Dunes: Sunday, July 25th– Saturday, July 31st
Join us for an exciting week celebrating owls! Enjoy on-site activities like an owl-themed Nature Time Tuesday, an owl Storytime with Manitowoc Public Library and more. We’ll have virtual visits with naturalist and author Stan Tekiela, and local wildlife rehabilitators, Wildlife of Wisconsin. This week will be a hoot! Registration is required for most in-person programs, see details below.
Owl Senses Walk
Sunday, July 25- Saturday, July 31
Celebrate Owl Week by learning about owl senses and Wisconsin owls! Stations will be set up along the first part of Willow Trail and can be enjoyed anytime from dawn until dusk.
Owl Babies Story Time
Sunday, July 25 – Saturday, Aug 21
Take an Owl Babies Story Time Walk through the Lester Public Library’s pretty gardens! Read the beloved tale of three owl siblings, Sarah, Percy and Bill, as you stroll. Bring your library card if you’d like to pick up a Feathered Tails Story Time To Go pack while you’re there (July 26th-31st).
Owl Craft Grab and Go Bag
Monday, July 26 -Saturday, July 31
Stop at the front desk of the Nature Center and pick up an owl art project to take home. The Nature Center is open Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-Noon.

Outdoor Owl Storytime at the Dunes

Storytime is a HOOT! Join us for an owl-themed storytime with special guests from Manitowoc Public Library! We’ll be singing, talking, reading, creating, and playing at this inclusive Storytime for families with preschoolers. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends, socialize, and strengthen early literacy skills. Recommended for developmental ages 2-5, siblings are always welcome. Storytimes are inclusive and welcoming. Be prepared to enjoy this outdoor storytime “picnic style” by bringing a blanket or camp chairs to set up in the lawn (some picnic tables available). In the event of inclement weather, storytime will be moved indoors, masks required. Space is limited, registration required by Thurs, July 29th.
