Outer Space/Great Decisions 2022 @ Manitowoc Public Library
MPL is proud to present Great Decisions 2022, our 15th year of hosting this preeminent eight-week grassroots lecture series. Great Decisions, a project of the Foreign Policy Association, is a grassroots world affairs education program which brings together Americans from across the nation to discover and discuss foreign policy issues. Over the course of eight weeks, scholars will introduce each issue, and participants may explore their own views and those of the group. On Monday, March 28, join California Science Center’s, Kenneth Phillips, PhD, to explore “Outer Space.” The launch of Sputnik 1 in October 1957 marked the beginning of the space era and of the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. in the 21st century, there are many more participants in space, including countries such as India and China, and commercial companies such as SpaceX. How will the United States fare in a crowded outer space?
“Outer Space” will broadcast exclusively ONLINE, livestreaming on MPL’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and YouTube channel.
