Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

May 29, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

The City of Two Rivers, in cooperation with the Robert E. Burns post 165 of The American Legion, again observes Memorial Day. Activities begin in Central Park at 8:30 a.m. with a reading of the honor roll and tolling of the bell to honor the 43 members of the U.S. Armed Forces from Two Rivers who were killed in action from the Civil War to the present. At 8:45, a wreath-laying ceremony is held at the Soldiers Monument. The parade begins at 9 a.m. It starts on Washington Street at 18th Street, proceeds north to 22nd Street, west to Forest Ave. and then north to Calvary Pioneers Rest Cemetery.

Following the program, the combined firing squads of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars pay tribute to veterans at Forest View/Holy Cross Cemetery.

In the event of rain, the observance will be held in the J.E. Hamilton Community House.
