Formed in 1988, Suffocation has released nine full-length albums, played over 2000 shows to date, and toured internationally…from the United States to Germany to Australia to Brazil. Suffocation is one of the absolute key bands in the development of the death metal genre and were pivotal as one of the most influential and emulated bands in the history of extreme music….and the pioneers of the now-infamous ‘New York death metal sound’.
