Ice Age Trail Hike
A guided hike provided by the Lakeshore Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance. Explore the south end of Point Beach State Forest. Walk the beach and revel in the scenic view of Lake Michigan. Anticipate a stream crossing.
A seven-mile round trip. Shuttle available for those who wish to hike one way only.
Meet at the Viceroy Road and County Road O parking area.
We will travel across ridges and swales in forested areas and across sand dunes.
Much of the hike is along the sandy shore of Lake Michigan.
The hike will head south for 3.5 miles and return for 7.0 miles round trip.
It will take about 3 hours.
We will be hiking along the beach and crossing a stream; expect to get wet feet.
Dogs on a leash are welcome.
A shuttle can be provided for those who want to hike in only one direction.
