Heritage Maker’s Market
– 4PM
Join historic artisans for a celebration of Wisconsin’s rich folk life traditions! Experience the sights, smells, music, and craftsmanship in this juried event featuring 19th Century artisans selling their wares and opportunities for hands-on creations. Discover a heritage craft, such as spinning and knitting. Explore heritage farm skills, such as wood-stove cooking and antique machinery. Watch specialty craftsmen such as blacksmiths, cobblers, and broom makers create their wares. Shop historical items from the General Store.
Guests can join members of the Upper Midwest Blacksmith Association (UMBA), for a special hands-on program. There will be multiple forging stations—complete with forge, anvil, vise and tools— fired up and skilled regional blacksmiths will provide hands-on instruction for guests. Make a small iron object using the same heat and hammer techniques practiced at the historical village’s shop.
