Concerts in the Park – Sugar Bush Boys
he Sugarbush Boys from Northeast WI, is named after band leader, Lenny Whipp’s home town of Sugarbush, a few miles east of Green Bay. The rest of the members are scattered throughout Brown, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties. The Sugarbush Boys is a 6 or 7 piece band featuring Czech style Polka Music along with a mixture of Classic Country, Golden Oldies and Big Band.
They now also appear as a 4 or 5 piece group called Sugarbush Lite. This smaller group is more than just a downsized Sugarbush Boys. With a library featuring a greater variety of more familiar songs not available to the full band, Sugarbush Lite is distinctly different than the Sugarbush Boys. If your taste in music doesn’t include Polkas, Sugarbush Lite is able to omit the Polkas and play an entire gig with a fun mixture of Classic Country, Golden Oldies and Big Band with an occasional hint of Dixieland.
