#3 Bacon Cooking Competition – Three Judged Food Categories…
*Best BACON Dish – this can be any bacon inspired dish, but should utilize bacon as the primary ingredient.
*Best BACON Wrapped Item – wrap it in bacon! Honestly, BACON wrapped BACON might win this category.
*Best HOMEMADE BACON – for the purists in the group, make from scratch your best bacon recipe to share with us. This can include any type of bacon (standard pork belly, Canadian, Buckboard, wild game, etc.). Here’s your chance to show off home curers.
Cooking Contest Rules:
1) Contestants are limited to (1) entry per category (3 entries max).
2) All dishes must be prepared prior to arriving at Tapped (no on-site cooking).
3) Electrical for Nesco/crockpot will be limited to Tapped availability.
4) Chafing dishes are allowed.
5) Tables for competitors limited to Tapped availability (bring your own if you have one).
6) Competition entry time is 1 – 2pm.
7) Judging starts at 2pm – until food runs out.
😎 All contestants will receive complimentary tasting and judging items with entry.
Sign Up & Entry Fees:
*Register at Tapped on the Lakeshore
*EARLY BIRD – $20 per item/category prior to August 25th.
*August 26th to September 6th – $30 per item/category
*Day of Event – $40 per item/category
*100% payout per category based on total entries per category.
Judging/Tasting Fees:
*All individuals who wish to taste/judge the competition dishes will pay $20 the day of the event, which will include (3) tickets, (1) per category to be used to choose your favorite item. All proceeds from judging fees will be donated to Shiners Boots Champaign.
*Please pre-register as a taster/judger to help our contestants estimate the proper amount to prepare.
