The Art of Tablesetting
Rahr West Art Museum
October 7 through November 4, 2018
This annual exhibit has transformed into a display far beyond anything Ruth West could have imaged when she introduced the first Tablesetting Exhibit at the Rahr-West Art Museum more than 30 years ago.
Originally, this exhibit featured traditional tablesettings of fine china and crystal, but over the years it has taken on a life of its own. It’s not unusual to find tin plates or coconut shells in place of china and crystal, the bench of a canoe or a picnic blanket used as the table, and settings such as a frontier wagon, a jail cell, or a sandy beach.
Please visit us at the Rahr-West Art Museum and enjoy this annual event. Each year brings new and intriguing designs, and we are sure this year will be no exception.
