The Midwest’s largest maritime museum, where kids and adults can tour of the nation’s most completely restored WWII submarine, the USS COBIA. Discover a gallery dedicated to Wisconsin-built recreational boats, or time-travel back to a 19th century shipbuilding town. Have fun with hands-on activities in the Children’s Waterways Room and Little Lakefarer’s Room, and you can operate a working triple-expansion marine steam engine.  Then visit the Museum’s Gift Store, Pier 75, for all your nautical purchases! All at the region’s only Smithsonian affiliate and the largest Maritime Museum on the Great Lakes.

The museum is closed New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. It is also closed for the museum’s annual fundraising event, Shipwreck Ball.
Submarine Tours

Submarine Tours of the USS Cobia are offered, weather permitting, throughout the year. Tour times are approximate and subject to change. Summer daily at approximately 9:30 am – 4 pm (5 pm July and August) and available throughout the day as needed. Spring and Fall (Mid-March – Memorial Day, Labor Day – October) Mon-Fri 10 am – 3 pm, and Sat, Sun 10 am – 4 pm. Winter (November – Mid-March) Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 11 am – 2 pm, Sat 11 am – 3 pm, and Sun 1 pm only

Allow three to four hours to fully explore the Museum and tour USS Cobia.
